A brand steeped in history. Trading from their brick and motor store in St James Street London. JJ Fox has been selling smoking tobacco since 1787! Among their valued customers, they lay claim to having supplied the likes of Sir Winston Churchill, Oscar Wilde, British and Foreign Royalty, the officer’s mess of famous British regiments.

With 3 Physical stores; one in Harrods, Selfridge’s and St James Street. JJ Fox are a dominating brand in the UK Cigar and fine smoking market.

What we set out to do

With a varied demographic of customer base, we had to be conscious of how the site came across from a creative and UX perspective. Hitting a sweet spot between contemporary and modern meant no customer group would be alienated.

Finding your perfect smoke is sometimes tricky, however, with our delivery of easy to use filters and “cigar finders” visitors are two clicks away from finding their perfect cigar.

By replacing the existing bespoke framework with a marketing leading solution Magento meant we would ensure the brand had flexibility, security and support in their critical path moving forward.

Stock transparency between the bricks and mortar stores and the website was also a key component of this project. Direct integration with Microsoft Nav Dynamics was planned from early on.

Size, Shape, Smoke time, Ring Gauge. So many choices and sometimes so little time. We developed an easy to use Cigar finder at each entry point for the user. This enables visitors to find their perfect smoke based on a few simple options.
